The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) will have a 24 square metres stand in the new Building 1 at the World Watch, Clock and Jewellery Show in Basle. Located within the Commercial Centre on the 1st floor, it will be next door to the Swiss Exhibitors’ Committee Information Centre and the International Training Sector, bringing together Wostep with SUMRA (the framework convention for the Swiss watch market).
The FH decided to participate to acquaint visitors with its activities. It will also give FH members, potential members and partners of the Swiss watch industry an opportunity to meet the FH delegates in Switzerland, the heads of the centres abroad and the correspondents attending the Show.
The FH stand has the same number (E01, Hall 1.2) as the Swiss Exhibitors Committee and the International Training Sector because the 180 square metres allocated to the Swiss Exhibitors’ Committee has been divided into three parts.

The Montblanc Star Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph watch pays homage to the early 19th century horologist Nicolas Mathieu Rieussec, whose patented “second chronograph” invention laid the foundation for the development of the modern chronograph.This limited edition Montblanc watch is animated by the manually-wound Montblanc MB R100 caliber, an entirely new movement designed, produced, and assembled in the Montblanc atelier. The innovative single-push chronograph mechanism is governed by a column wheel in combination with a vertical plate clutch. The twin subdials shown on the dial indicate continous subsidiary seconds and chronograph minutes, via a system of rotating discs beneath fixed hands. Additionally, the caliber offers a pointer-type date display. Thanks to dual mainspring barrels, the MB R100 caliber features a 72-hour power reserve. Turning the Star Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph over reveals a sapphire caseback window, through which the finely decorated movement structures and a power-reserve indicator can be observed.The Montblanc Star Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph features a classical 43mm case crafted from platinum, or 18K gold. The intricately designed dial displays a Cotes de Geneve pattern that emphasizes the strikingly designed chronograph functions and off-centered time display. Montblanc will produce 125 pieces in 18K red gold, another 75 each in 18K yellow gold and 18K white gold, and an additional 25 examples in platinum. Swiss watchmaker Omega has updated their iconic Constellation collection–without question one of the world’s most immediately recognizable families of contemporary luxury timepieces. Building upon the now-famous design cues pioneered in the 1982 Constellation Manhattan which created an aesthetic identity for new generations of Constellation timepieces, these 2009 models present subtle refinements and new dials, as well as the application of manufacture Omega self-winding movements employing the revolutionary Omega Co-Axial escapement.
The 2009 Omega Constellation watches are presented in five sizes. In addition to the traditionally feminine 24mm and 27mm, medium sized 31mm and 35mm variations are offered, as well as a series of 38mm models. All stainless steel, 18K yellow or pink gold, as well as combinations of steel and 18K gold in versions with or without diamonds continue the tradition of the modern Constellation collection to offer a great variety of choices for prospective owners. The same can be said for the dials, which are available in silver, champagne, mother of pearl, black, and chocolate brown. All the 2009 Constellation dials also show off a supernova guilloche pattern that radiates outward from the applied Constellation star at the 6 o’clock position. For the sake of optimum wearing comfort, the signature “Mono Rang” bracelet of the Omega Constellation has been given a very subtle re-design which is also reflected in the triple deployant security clasp. The finishing aesthetic touch can be found on the bezel; the signature Griffes–a necessity on the original models to properly secure the crystal–showcase a broader, more rounded profile.
The movements animating the 2009 Omega Constellation watch collection vary according to the size of the model. Both 24mm and 27mm watches employ the battery-powered 1376 quartz caliber, while the 35mm variant utilizes either the 1532 quartz caliber, or the self-winding 2500 caliber with the Omega Co-Axial Escapement. The 31mm and 38mm versions employ Omega’s fully in-house 8520/8521 and 8500/8501 calibers. Both of these latter movements feature a variety of exclusive technical and aesthetic features, including a full balance bridge, the friction-reducing Co-Axial Escapement, and a distinctive “Cotes de Geneve en Arabesques” decorative pattern on the rotor and bridges.
Water resistance of the Omega Constellation 2009 watches is 100 meters across the board. Each timepiece is fitted with a sapphire crystal, and features polished “Dauphine Plume” hands in rhodium-plated steel or 18K gold.

This complex timepiece features a fine tourbillon movement, housed within a case whose avant garde combination of classic and cutting edge materials emphasizes sports performance united with elegance–dynamic traits which define the relationship between Jaeger-LeCoultre and luxury car builder Aston Martin. The domed crystal is crafted from synthetic sapphire, and the leather strap features a perforated pattern and contrasting white stitching.The Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 988 movement is self-winding and comprised of 323 individual components. The 7.49mm high movement features 35 jewels, and has a power reserve of 48 hours; its balance wheel alternates 28,800 times each hour. The tourbillon cage, crafted in Grade 5 Titanium, completes a single revolution each minute upon a bridge of gilded aluminum. The movement’s functions include a second timezone, an AM/PM indicator for that zone, and an independently adjustable hour hand. The unique date display features a jumping function between the dates of the 31st and 1st; this feature has been specially engineered so that the tourbillon is never obscured, and its technology is protected by patent registration. The Audemars Piguet Millenary watch collection has been refreshed with a new breeze of feminine grace. Expanding upon the collection’s signature Coliseum-inspired oval case form, the Millenary Precieuse displays elegant gem-set rings extended by straps in sensual satin. The Audemars Piguet Millenary Precieuse watches are presented in both white and pink shades of 18-karat gold. Each model is accented by expressive cascades of round brilliant diamonds, and feature a crown topped with a sapphire cabochon. The expressive and fancifully elegant dials are crafted from mother of pearl or guilloche-patterned metal and feature hands and markers in polished gold, contrasted by set diamonds. The 18K gold strap buckles are also set with round brilliants. Watchmaking artistry has not taken a backseat to the jewelers craft. Within each Audemars Piguet Millenary Precieuse resides a hand-wound mechanical movement, which has been refined in accordance with haute horlogerie tradition. A scant 2.6mm in height, the Caliber 2046 features 18 jewels, and has a balance wheel which alternates 21,600 times per hour. Bridges and plate are plated with rhodium, and feature Cotes de Geneve and circular grained finishes. The settings for jewels and screws are meticulously beveled, and screw heads are also finely polished. The Audemars Piguet Millenary Precieuse is water resistant to 20 meters.
